A private legal practitioner, Austin Kwabena Brako-Powers has said that the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) can not compel Shatta Shatta Wale to reveal the seller’s identity of his car.

This comes after the African Dancehall King was arrested and detained over his acquisition of a yellow Lamborghini Urus.
Lawyer defends Shatta Wale
The lawyer argued that the Dancehall artist has the right to remain silent during interrogation. He, therefore cannot be forced to provide information that may potentially incriminate him.
“Shatta Wale has the right not to incriminate himself, and this privilege can be invoked in both civil and criminal proceedings” Lawyer Austin Kwabena Brako-Powers noted.
Lawyer Austin Kwabena Brako-Powers explained this in an interview with Alfred Ocansey on 3FM on Thursday, August 21, 2025.
Shatta Wale Granted bail
Meanwhile, Shatta Wale has claimed that he bought the luxury vehicle for $150,000. EOCO however, is investigating Shatta Wale because the car is linked to a $4 million financial crime in the USA. EOCO suspects that the proceeds from the crime may have funded the car’s acquisition.
Shatta Wale through his friends and his management team has successfully secured a bail of GH₵10 million with two sureties.
