Africa’s biggest Dancehall export, Mr. Charles Nii Armah Mensah Junior, popularly known as Shatta Wale, has hit back at critics.
The celebrated Dancehall artist claims media coverage of the 2019 Lamborghini Urus has boosted his music streams. He noted that EOCO’s seizure of the car has pushed him back into the limelight.

According to him, the continuous media coverage has significantly increased his digital streams. His comments follow international reports, including one by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).
Reacting to the British state broadcaster’s report, Shatta Wale said his music streams on all digital platforms have shot up since the incident. As usual, he took to Facebook to respond to his critics.
“I go international ooo. This is what we call a global icon. You think you are posting to spoil me but it’s making my streams grow. You go taya ruff,” Shatta Wale wrote on Facebook on Friday, August 8.
EOCO’s raid on Shatta Wale
Social media went wild after Shatta Wale announced EOCO had raided his home and seized his Lamborghini. The disgruntled artist took to social media to vent his frustration about the incident. EOCO’s actions are part of a collaboration with the FBI and the US Justice Department.
Authorities claim the luxury car is linked to the proceeds of crime involving a convicted Ghanaian fraudster in the US.
In a press release, EOCO said Shatta Wale fully cooperated during the seizure. He even requested that the handover be done quietly to protect his public image.
